The Fire Between High and Lo Ebook CoverThere once was a boy, and I loved him.

Logan Francis Silverstone and I were complete opposites. I danced, and he stood still. He was quiet, while I ran my mouth. He struggled to find a smile, and I refused to frown.

The night I saw the darkness that truly lived inside of him, I couldn’t look away.

We were broken together, yet somehow whole. We were wrong together, but always right. We were the stars that burned across the night sky, searching for a wish, praying for better tomorrows.

Until the day I lost him. He threw us away with one hasty decision–a decision that changed us forever.

There once was a boy, and I loved him.

And for a few breaths, a few whispers, a few moments, I think he loved me, too.

We received a copy of this book in exchange for a honest review.

Brittainy C Cherry is a new author to me and without knowing what I was getting myself into I chose to purchase the first book in the series. Both books are standalone stories but I loved the synopsis for both of them. In the end I’m glad I chose to do this as both books are absolutely amazing.

Logan and Alyssa come from two very different lifestyles, Alyssa comes from a richer family where she lives with her mother and sister, but her father is absent pursuing his music career. Logan lives in a bad part of town with his drug addict mother, his drug dealing father turns up on occasion to supply his mother with more drugs and give both Logan and his mother a beating.

No matter their differences though Logan and Alyssa are both broken. When friendship becomes more the two become even more inseparable than imaginable, until one day things change. With tragedies effecting them both Logan does the only thing he can, he leaves to sort his own issues and stays away. But when circumstances change and the two are thrust back together, can the love they had for each other save them both.

From start to finish this story pulled me in and I couldn’t stop reading. I wanted to know more about what happened to Alyssa and Logan. The characters make you feel for them and care for them and you want them to be okay. When the two come back together I didn’t even see the plot twist coming so well done to Brittainy for slipping that one in.

I can not recommend The Fire Between High and Lo enough, and would definitely recommend it a long with the first book. I look forwards to reading more of this series from Brittainy and will even be looking into some of her other titles as well.

TAHB Ebook CoverI was warned about Tristan Cole.

“Stay away from him,” people said.
“He’s cruel.”
“He’s cold.”
“He’s damaged.”

It’s easy to judge a man because of his past. To look at Tristan and see a monster.

But I couldn’t do that. I had to accept the wreckage that lived inside of him because it also lived inside of me.

We were both empty.
We were both looking for something else. Something more.
We both wanted to put together the shattered pieces of our yesterdays.

Then perhaps we could finally remember how to breathe.
