Lionsgate Change the Name of the Final ‘Divergent’ Movie
Here’s a piece of news that we’re not sure what we think of yet so lets see what you all think!
Three books, four movies, this isn’t uncommon. We’ve had two installments already. The final two, making up book three were previously called Allegiant, Part 1 and Allegiant, Part 2.
While the 2016 and 2017 release dates are the same, they will now be called The Divergent Series: Allegiant and The Divergent Series: Ascendant.
The author to the popular book series, Veronica Roth sounded uncertain about the changes herself.
“What does this mean? Well, basically, it means there are going to be some changes, but it’s really too early to know exactly what those changes will be or the extent of them,” she wrote. “I know changes always make fans of the books — and the author! — nervous, but hopefully the characters we know (and love. Or sometimes love to hate?) will still be intact, which is really the important thing. I am eager to see how these movies turn out, along with you guys.”
The official Twitter account for the Divergent movies revealed that the world will ‘expand’. So we can presume there will be extra plot lines.
Also, renamed movies, means new posters, which MTV revealed…
Lionsgate offered no explanation as to how and why the change has come about but it’s certainly intriguing.
The term ‘ascendant’ is defined as “rising in power or influence,”. Could this be a clue? Or could it mean something entirely different?
