British Teacher Sophie Jackson’s Debut Novel A Pound of Flesh to Take the Literary World by Storm

Chorley based English teacher Sophie Jackson had no idea that when she started to write her Twilight based fanfiction A Pound of Flesh that it would become one of this years most anticipated novels. She also would have no idea that some of the worlds biggest publishing houses would go up against each other in hopes of being the one to turn Sophie’s half a million word fanfiction into a novel but that is exactly what happened.

A Pound of Flesh, the first book in a trilogy, is the latest novel to emerge from stories posted on fan fiction websites. The book is a ‘tale of loyalty, love and redemption’ and was originally published on fanfiction.net in 2010 and has been read 4 million times and has received 22,000 reviews. Sophie joined host John Gilmore on BBC Radio Lancashire at the Winter Gardens in Blackpool to help promote A Pound of Flesh, you can hear the interview below.
