Luke Evans and David Oyelowo to Star in Three Seconds Adaptation
Swedish authors Anders Roslund and Borge Hellstrom’s best selling Three Seconds is to be adapted as director Otto Bathurst’s feature debut. The script has been penned by Matt Cook and Rowan Joffe and will be produced by Basil Iwanyk, Ollie Madden with Erica Lee to executive produce. Already cast are Luke Evans (The Hobbit: Battle of the Five Armies) and David Oyelowo (Selma). We are yet to hear who Evans will be playing, but Oyelowo will be Detective Lt. Edward Grens, an anti-social NYPD detective who quickly begins unravelling the FBI’s operation after the murder of a fellow officer. Principal photography was set to begin this spring in New York.
Piet Hoffmann is the Swedish police force’s best undercover operative. Not even his family know of his double identity. Yet when a drug deal with the Polish mafia goes fatally wrong, his secret life begins to crumble around him.
Detective Inspector Ewert Grens is charged with investigating the drug-related killing. Unaware of Hoffmann’s true identity, he believes himself to be on the trail of a dangerous psychopath.
Hoffmann must desperately maintain his cover; else he is a dead man walking. But, in the doggedly-perceptive Ewert Grens, he has just made the most relentless of enemies.
