Sirens Star Options True Story Brother’s Blood
Actor Michael Mosely, best known for his role in the TV show Sirens, which was based on the British show of the same name, has optioned the film rights to nonfiction book Brother’s Blood and will star as convicted killer Jerry Mark in the true life murder mystery according to The Wrap.
Mark was a Peace Corps volunteer and lawyer, who in 1975 was convicted of murdering his brother, sister-in-law, niece and nephew in Cedar Falls, Iowa. The story will feature Mark’s cross-country motorcycle ride from California to Iowa to commit the murders, the landmark investigation, the trial, and his appeals that continued for three decades.
“I was born and raised in Cedar Falls, so this story was one that I grew up hearing about,” said Mosley. “I was raised in the same small town as Jerry Mark, we went to the same high school, we were both student body president. He and I could have been friends, if I had been born several decades prior. However, his transition from being a seemingly successful young man to becoming a cold-blooded killer is a character study that I had to take on. This book is the kind of campfire story that would be unbelievable if it weren’t true.”
If you think you’ve seen Michael in this kind of role before, fans of Castle will recognise that he played a serial killer Johnny Tyson in the show between 2010 and 2015. He has also popped up in movies like The Proposal and 27 Dresses, and will be seen in Hot Pursuit this year which stars Reese Witherspoon.
