First Look Behind the Scenes ofVictor Frankenstein
First pictures from behind the scenes of Victor Frankenstein starring James McAvoy, Daniel Radcliffe, Mark Gatiss and directed by Paul McGuign (Lucky Number Slevin) have now surfaced in the new issue of Empire. McAvoy who is playing the title role of Victor Von Frankenstein and Radcliffe as his assistant Igor can both be seen donning Victorian garb with what could possibly be the beginnings of Frankenstein’s monster in the background of one image.
As much as the monster is his creation, Igor is his creation as well. That was quite exciting. It’s funny, the script, but also really dark, in a cool way. – James McAvoy
James McAvoy and Daniel Radcliffe star in a unique, never-before-seen twist on Mary Shelley’s classic 19th century novel. Told from Igor’s perspective, we see the troubled young assistant’s dark origins, his redemptive friendship with the young medical student Victor Von Frankenstein, and become eyewitnesses to the emergence of how Frankenstein became the man - and the legend - we know today.
Victor Frankenstein is being released in the UK on 25th September.
Frankenstein tells the story of committed science student Victor Frankenstein. Obsessed with discovering the cause of generation and life and bestowing animation upon lifeless matter, Frankenstein assembles a human being from stolen body parts but; upon bringing it to life, he recoils in horror at the creature’s hideousness. Tormented by isolation and loneliness, the once-innocent creature turns to evil and unleashes a campaign of murderous revenge against his creator, Frankenstein.
