Second International Trailer for Mark Osborne’s The Little Prince
Animated feature The Little Prince will premiere during Cannes in the official selection next month marking the first animated film adaptation of Antoine de Saint-Exupery’s classic novella.
Our movie is an homage to one of France’s most iconic and revered properties, but also one of its most international, having crossed languages, cultures and generations. There is no better place than the Cannes Film Festival to showcase this unique combination.
Directed by Mark Osborne (Kung Fu Panda) and featuring the voices of Jeff Bridges, Rachel McAdams, James Franco, Marion Cotillard and Benicio Del Toro, The Little Prince tells the tale of a little girl who lives with her mother and gets initiated by her eccentric yet kind-hearted neighbour, the Aviator, into a magical world where anything is possible — a world that the Aviator himself was initiated into long ago by the Little Prince.
A pilot stranded in the desert awakes one morning to see, standing before him, the most extraordinary little fellow. “Please,” asks the stranger, “draw me a sheep.” And the pilot realizes that when life’s events are too difficult to understand, there is no choice but to succumb to their mysteries. He pulls out pencil and paper . . .
Thus begins this wise and enchanting fable that, in teaching the secret of what is really important in life, has changed the world forever for its readers. Often seen as a symbol of childhood innocence, Antoine de Saint-Exupery’s best-selling book The Little Prince is cherished by children and adults alike across the globe.
