Bad Robot Had a Dream!… To Adapt Martin Luther King Book ‘Death of a King’
In a new partnership, Bad Robot and author Tavis Smiley have joined forces to bring his book ‘Death of a King’ to life for the small screen.
Bad Robot have acquired the rights, in association with Warner Bros Television, to the book based on Martin Luther King’s final days.
It hasn’t yet been decided whether the adaptation will be seen as a drama or event series but either way it’s sure to be a compelling viewing for fans. We all know of the phenomenal life Martin Luther King led and the book tells the dramatic and untold story of King’s tumultuous last year leading to his 1968 assassination.
JJ Abrams will oversee the project alongside Smiley and Bad Robots head of TV, Ben Stephenson.
