Watch the Live Streaming Theatre Event of the Year: The Olivier Awards 2015 Hit Covent Garden Tonight

275581_94_previewThe biggest awards ceremony for theatre take place tonight in London’s Covent Garden and will be hosted by actor/comedian, Lenny Henry. This years nominees includes high profile performers James McAvoy, Gillian Anderson, Kristin Scott Thomas, Mark Strong, Richard Armitage, Tim Pigott-Smith, Penelope Wilton, Imelda Staunton and Angela Lansbury, as well as musical legends Ray Davies, Fatboy Slim and David Byrne. Guests on the night, who also include award presenters including Judi Dench, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Dianna Agron, Anne-Marie Duff, Emilia Fox, David Harewood and Lorna Luft, will be treated to an incredible array of performances from some of this year’s nominated shows including all the MasterCard Best New Musical and Magic Radio Best Musical Revival nominees.

Best Actress in a Musical nominees Beverley Knight and Katie Brayben will perform numbers from Memphis The Musical and Beautiful – The Carole King Musical respectively, Cats’ Nicole Scherzinger will sing Andrew Lloyd Webber’s iconic track Memory, while Here Lies Love’s Natalie Mendoza will perform alongside the show’s composer David Byrne.

This year the awards has partnered with ITV’s This Morning to present the only award voted for by the general public, the This Morning Audience Award. The four shortlisted shows hoping to follow in the footsteps of last year’s winner Les Misérables are Billy Elliot The Musical, Jersey Boys, Matilda The Musical and Wicked.

This year’s radio partner is the hugely popular Magic FM and, building on last year’s collaboration, ITV continues as the awards’ television partner enabling theatre fans to tune into the very best moments from the ceremony shortly after proceedings come to a close with a highlights programme on the channel at 22:15, or catch up on ITV Player.
