Poldark Series 2 Confirmed with Hunky Aidan Turner
Everyone has been glued to their BBC screens the last few Sunday nights to see the gorgeous Aidan Turner in ‘Poldark’ and will no doubt mourn the end of the series in a few episodes time. But fear not! BBC One have confirmed that the Cornwall based drama will return for a second series!
In the same news, BBC One boss, Charlotte Moore, also shared that Turner will definitely be reprising his role as brooding Ross alongside co-star Eleanor Tomlinson who plays his love interest.
‘I can exclusively announce that Sunday night’s new phenomenon Poldark that has captured the nation’s hearts has been commissioned for a second series,’ Mrs Moore said, adding that the series had helped BBC1 to an ‘outstanding start’ this year.
It’s great news for the series that has averaged a count of 8.1 million viewers each episode and so even better news for the fans who have been hooked!
For anyone not in the know (And we’d be shocked), the series is based on Winston Graham’s novels which follow Ross Poldark after he returns from the American War of Independence only to find that his father has died and his former fiancée, Elizabeth, has married another man.
There are a staggering 12 books in the Poldark series, seven are set in the 18th century, with the final five following the lives of Poldark’s children in the 19th century.
The second series of the BBC favourite will follow books three and four.
However, if you can’t wait until then and would love to know what happens, you can purchase the books, on Amazon.
Before we go, we’ll leave you with the trailer to keep you going until the next episode!
