BBC Share Casting for Jed Mercurio’s Adaptation of Lady Chatterley’s Lover
In an adaptation of the classic ‘Lady Chatterley’s Lover’ that was filmed on location in Cardiff and due to be screened later this year, we can share with you the brilliant cast of one of the featured classics as part of BBC One’s season of classic 20th century literature.
Holliday Grainger (The Riot Club), Richard Madden (Game Of Thrones) and James Norton (Happy Valley) all have roles in Jed Mercurio’s adaptation which has been produced by Hartswood Films.
Writer and director, Mercurio was delighted to speak about his adaptation.

In case you don’t know, Lady Chatterley’s Lover, an early-20th-century tale of love across class boundaries, tells the legendary and romantic story of Lady Chatterley’s affair with her gamekeeper. With its original 1928 edition censored in Britain for over 30 years after it was written, Lady Chatterley’s Lover is one of the most sexually pioneering novels of the 20th century.
As previously mentioned, the adaptation forms a part of BBC One’s season of classic 20th century literature which will also include will also include Adrian Hodges’ adaptation of LP Hartley’s The Go-Between, Ben Vanstone’s adaptation of Laurie Lee’s memoir Cider With Rosie and J B Priestley’s classic play An Inspector Calls.
