Shadowhunters1After the saga’s 2013 bigscreen adaptation The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones starring Lily Collins as Clary and Jamie Campbell Bower as Jace, fans were unsure what the future held for the rest of the books coming to the screen. In October news finally came of the series returning as a television show, then in February the show got its name, yesterday it was confirmed that ABC Family will be bringing Shadowhunters to life in their first scripted saga-to-series.

I’m excited to see ABC Family bring the world of the ‘Shadowhunters’ to life. As a huge fan of longform television drama, I can’t wait to see the story unfold and for the fans to have more time with the world and the characters. – Cassandra Clare (author)

The series is set to be produced by Constantin Film, with Ed Decter serving as executive producer and showrunner. Shadowhunters is looking to go into production this May in Toronto, no premiere date or casting has been announced.
