The Brothers Grimm Series Being Developed by Ehren Kruger
Following on from Heath Ledgers performance in the 2005 fantasy film ‘The Brothers Grimm‘, we’re set for a new telling of the story thanks to Ehren Kruger. He has been set with the task of penning a TV series adaptation for Miramax.
If you’re not familiar with Kruger’s work then you may recognise these titles: The Ring and The Transformer movies! He also wrote the script for the 2005 film adaptation and it is expected that he will build the series from that story and will follow the adventures of brothers Wilhelm and Jacob Grimm as they hunt supernatural entities in 19th century Europe.
Miramax’s executive vice president of film and television, said:
“The tales of the Brothers Grimm are beloved around the world and offer an endless well of story and character to draw from. It’s a natural fit for television.”
Miramax Vice President of Television Daniel Pipski, who first conceived the project had his say too!
“We reached out to Ehren Kruger and producing partner Daniel Bobker to see if they had any interest in making ‘The Brothers Grimm’ movie into a TV show and the pitch Ehren came back with blew us away. We’re thrilled to be working with a writer of his caliber.”
And as for the writer himself, Kruger is ecstatic to be again working in the universe of The Brothers Grimm.
“The original stories the Brothers set out to collect were not for the faint of heart and we’ll be making a show that gets back to those origins and their cautionary, scary, thrilling spirit.”
