Miles Teller to Star in Josh Dean’s The Life and Times of the Stopwatch Gang

Miles Teller will play a bank robber in Josh Dean’s The Life and Times of the Stopwatch Gang adaptation.

Continuing the trend of adapting long-form articles for the big screen, Universal is going ahead with its adaptation of The Life and Times of the Stopwatch Gang.The article, written by Josh Dean, tells the story of the infamous Canadian bank robber trio, who were known for their precision and speed.

The real-life Stopwatch Gang got their nickname because one of the robbers wore a stopwatch around his neck. Consisting of Paddy Mitchell, Lionel Wright and Stephen Reid, the trio operated in the 1980s, robbing an estimated 100 banks across Canada and the United States. Their greatest heist took place at a Bank of America branch in San Diego.

Gangster Squad director Ruben Fleischer will helm the movie, and Miles Teller will both star in and serve as producer on the project.
