Roland Emmerich Postitions his Pieces Ready to Strike with Independence Day 2
Next year will mark a decade since aliens tried to invade the Earth and blew up the White House with Jeff Goldblum and Will Smith saving the human race from destruction. Independence Day director Roland Emmerich has confirmed that computer expert David Levinson (Goldblum) will be back in the upcoming sequel and he won’t be alone. Liam Hemsworth (The Hunger Games) whose role has not yet been confirmed and Jessie Usher who will play the son of Will Smith’s character will be joining Goldblum.
“My producing partner Harald Kloser noticed Jessie in between sets of push-ups at the gym and gave him an audition,” Emmerich explained. He added on Facebook: “First you strategically position your pieces, and when the time is right, you strike.” Excited to officially announce Liam Hemsworth and Jeff Goldblum as the next two pieces of the Independence Day sequel!”
Independence Day 2 is currently scheduled for a 24th June 2016 release date.
