Frances McDormand to Join Meg Wolitzer’s The Wife Adaptation

After her SAG Award win for HBO’s adaptation of Olive Kitteridge, Frances McDormand has signed on for the film adaptation of The Wife, author Meg Wolitzer’s 2003 novel.

McDormand will be joining the current cast of Jonathan Pryce as the novelist, Christian Slater as his biographer, Logan Lerman the couple’s son. Brit Marling will play the young wife, and McDormand her Smith College mentor.
