Donna Tartt Novel ‘The Goldfinch’ for Movie Adaptation!
In a brilliant career move for novel writer Donna Tartt, she is set to see her third novel ‘The Goldfinch’ adapted for the silver screen.
The move comes after the novel won the Pulitzer Prize for fiction, landed in the New York Times Book Reviews 10 best books for 2013 AND it earned the author a spot in the TIME 100.
Award winning screen writer Peter Straughan will be behind bringing the book to life. He is known for his BAFTA winning work on ‘Tinker Tinker Soldier Spy’. Warner Bros and RatPac Entertainment will prodice.
If you’ve not read the book, The Goldfinch revolves around Theo Decker, a teenaged boy who comes into possession of a 17th century Dutch painting called “The Goldfinch” moments after his mother is killed in a terrorist explosion at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. The story unravels over the course of two decades, the painting informing the ins and outs of Theo’s tumultuous life.
