Lionsgate Acquires Rights to “Down a Dark Hall” with Stephenie Meyer Set to Produce
Lionsgate has acquired the right to supernatural drama “Down a Dark Hall” with Stephenie Meyer and Meghan Hibbett to produce under Fickle Fish Films along with Wyck Godfrey and Marty Bowen with Temple Hill Entertainment. Rodrigo Cortes will direct “Hall” based on the 1974 novel by Lois Duncan. Michael Goldbach wrote the original adaptation with Chris Sparling now writing.
The story follows that of the newest student at a boarding school who confronts the dark seductive powers of the headmistress and comes face to face with the supernatural abilities that could make her great or destroy her.
Erik Feig, Gillian Bohrer and James Myers are overseeing the project for Lionsgate. Robert Melnik negotiated the deal on behalf of the studio.
