Kellan Lutz reveals a Twilight secret!
Could you have imagined hunky Kellan Lutz as Edward Cullen?
In an interview with Access Hollywood, Kellan revealed that he was originally sought after to play Robert Pattinson’s character Edward Cullen – but turned it down.
“The role just didn’t… I just didn’t care to entertain it,”
“I really wanted to play a happy role or no role for a little bit,” he told Billy Bush and Kit Hoover, explaining that his role in “Generation Kill” left him wanting something more upbeat.
If you’re unaware, Generation Kill was a British-American mini series based on the book of the same name by Evan Wright about his experience as an embedded reporter with the U.S. Marine Corps’ 1st Reconnaissance Battalion during the 2003 invasion of Iraq.
But Kellan did speak fondly of the role he did take in Twilight.
“I didn’t care to audition for [the role of Edward] because he was a bit moody and emotionally challenged,”
“But then I loved Emmett… I’m so blessed to have been able to play him,” he said.
“I love everyone. I loved to work with everyone and I loved my role,” he explained. “I’d love to play Emmett again or even another role in it.”
We will next see Kellan flexing his muscles in movie, “Hercules: The Legend Begins,” and made comment and explanation regarding his character and a similar movie starring another muscle blessed actor.
“I pushed myself. I’m a bigger guy by nature and [director Renny Harlin] wanted me trimmed down,”
“The Rock is doing Hercules [too]. I love the Rock. He’s naturally big and strong and he has amazing DNA,” he said. “And for me, I couldn’t get that big and thank God [the director] said, ‘I don’t want you that big.'”
Hercules: The Legend Begins is due for UK release on 8th August 2014.
